St Patrick’s Day as prelude to Spring Equinox, Ostara!
When I think of St Pat’s, I do be thinkin’ of green, green Ireland, since some of my ancestors came from there. Oh, yes, there be faeries and eves and gnomes, dancing and guarding the land. The tree Spirits watch over all, whispering hints, carrying messages. The birds hither and thro checking up, chatting the Path. The primordial stone people sit and sink, stand irrevocably for their principles, holding the Courts of the Ages. The skies and winds are boundless and lifting. The Great Rainmaker, grants blessings of fertility, flowing brooks, waters in wells. The Tiny Ones, insects, worms, butterflies, weave the Magic moment to moment. All lives and breathes as One, including you and I.
Do drink a toast, of any kind as you see fit. I personally have a bottle of Martinelli’s Gold Medal Sparkling Cider stashed in the back of my fridge for the occasion. I will lift a cup in gratitude, for my gifts received, for gifts I can give, for my friends, for all of YOU! And for my little Pet Friend, the small Wonder Dog, Clover! He is a lucky dog! Celebrate as makes you happy. Spring is a time of growing, starting summer crops. Plant a new veggie, throw some flower seeds about, plant a tree! Blessed be.
St Pat’s is always special to me, and this year especially since I will be giving a presentation! Sustainable Containables, Delicious Veggies! How green can you get?! It will be at Santa Barbara City College, Saturday March 17, 10 to 11 AM, Room EBS-102!
